Something wonderful has just landed at Gatto Nero Publishing: a whole collection of vintage champagne posters, each one lovingly restored and ready to hang on your wall. If your kitchen currently features a toaster, a calendar from 2023, and an air of quiet desperation — this is your intervention.
Bubbles, but make it art
Champagne has always had the best advertising. Think about it: nobody ever painted a wistful watercolour of a glass of tap water. But champagne? Champagne got Leonetto Cappiello, the undisputed father of the modern advertising poster, who gave us the dazzling Champagne De Rochegre (1910) and the gloriously fizzy Champagne Vicomte de Castellane (1922) — a poster so full of golden bubbles it should come with a “do not shake” warning.
Then there’s Alphonse Mucha’s Champagne Ruinart (1896), the oldest of the bunch and arguably the most beautiful. Mucha could make a phone bill look like a religious experience, and here he turns the world’s oldest champagne house into pure Art Nouveau poetry. Flowing hair, decorative panels, and a woman raising her glass like she knows something wonderful is about to happen. (It is. It’s this poster. On your wall.)

Cappiello really did bottle lightning
If you’ve never fallen down the Cappiello rabbit hole, brace yourself. Before him, posters were polite. Cappiello made them shout. His genius was simple: one unforgettable character, one bold colour, one second of attention seized forever. His Florio et Cinzano (1930) poster — yes, technically an aperitif, but spiritually champagne’s glamorous cousin — is a masterclass in raising a glass with both hands.
And for the Art Deco crowd, Achille Mauzan’s Champagne Pommery and Greno (1930) brings the sleek, geometric glamour of Reims’ grandest house. Pommery invented the brut style the world now gulps at every wedding — so arguably, this poster is the ancestor of every toast you’ve ever enjoyed.
Why vintage champagne posters belong in your home
Beyond the obvious (they’re gorgeous, they’re conversation starters, and they make you look like someone who owns a fondue set even if you don’t), vintage champagne posters are interior design gold. They suit:
- Kitchens and dining rooms — where food happens and joy should follow
- Home bars — instantly 60% classier, that’s science
- Living rooms — that “effortlessly cultured” vibe you’ve been chasing
- Gifts — for the champagne lover who already owns the good glasses
Restored, refreshed, and ready to pour
Each poster in our collection has been digitally restored by an artist — every crease smoothed, every faded hue brought back to full fizz — while keeping all the authentic vintage character. You receive five high-resolution files in five standard sizes, from A5 up to A1 and every popular print ratio in between. Print at home, take them to your local print shop, or upload to any online printer — the choice is yours.
And like all our downloads, they’re instant. Order, download, print — you could genuinely go from reading this blog post to champagne-themed walls before the cork on your actual champagne hits the ceiling.
