Few eras in cycling history carry quite the romance of the interwar years. The roads of France were alive with competitive spirit — the Tour de France was already a national institution, and the bicycle had moved from utilitarian transport to symbol of speed, freedom, and modernity. Manufacturers competed fiercely for the attention of an enthusiastic cycling public, and poster art was their most powerful weapon.

This Roland Cycles advertising poster — produced somewhere in the rich decade between 1924 and 1935 — captures that energy beautifully. Bold, direct, and unmistakably of its era, it speaks the visual language of French commercial Art Deco: confident typography, vivid colour, and graphic economy that still commands a wall today.
