The poster that announced a revolution: Toulouse-Lautrec’s 1891 debut for the Moulin Rouge made him famous overnight and transformed poster art forever. La Goulue (“The Glutton”), the star cancan dancer, kicks up her skirts in the foreground while her audience — including the silhouetted top-hat of the artist himself — looks on.

The first great lithographic poster of the modern era, it pinned Montmartre’s most notorious dance hall into the centre of Parisian mythology. Arguably the most famous entertainment poster ever created.
